Before “influencer” was a title, both— Frida Kahlo (1907–1954, Mexico) and Amrita Sher-Gil (1913–1941, India)- were pioneers in art, in life, and in gender equality. As fierce creative spirits from opposite corners of the world, both fought through similar societal constraints. Here, Frida wears an Indian saree and earrings, seen in Amrita’s iconic self-portrait. Amrita rests on calla lilies, flowers that symbolized pain, fertility and loss in Frida’s art. Behind them, a guardian angel stands watch; her wings bear the imprint of birth years spanning 200 years of pioneering women artists—an unbroken lineage carrying their courage forward. As the celestial teardrops shed by the angel turn into jewels, a little girl peers through the clouds, sensing her true ancestral lineage.

Antes de que “influencer” fuera un título, tanto Frida Kahlo (1907–1954, México) como Amrita Sher-Gil (1913–1941, India) fueron pioneras en el arte, en la vida y en la igualdad de género. Como espíritus creativos feroces desde extremos opuestos del mundo, ambas lucharon contra restricciones sociales similares. Aquí, Frida lleva un sari indio y aretes vistos en el icónico autorretrato de Amrita. Amrita descansa sobre alcatraces, flores que en el arte de Frida simbolizaban el dolor, la fertilidad y la pérdida. Detrás de ellas, un ángel guardián vigila; sus alas llevan grabados años de nacimiento que abarcan doscientos años de mujeres artistas pioneras, un linaje ininterrumpido que transporta su valentía hacia el futuro. Mientras las lágrimas celestiales que derrama el ángel se transforman en joyas, una niña pequeña observa entre las nubes, presintiendo su verdadero linaje ancestral.
